http://forum.tkaraoke.co...ne-Songbook-Feature.aspx

TKaraoke can generate a song catalog of your songs. Here is a sample song catalog. The song catalog can be printed out and given a copy to each of your guest. Anyone can quickly add a song into the queue by entering its 4-digit number of the song found on the song catalog. To do this, press 1 on the remote control followed by the 4-digit number.

It's simple to generate a song catalog in TKaraoke. Download the following tutorial video or see it the youtube clip (not too good quality).

Ong Chu,

How does Tkaraoke assign the # to the song? I generated a song list and it looks as follow:

Quote:
0001 Anh Sáu Về Quê
0002 Hình Bóng Quê Nhà
0003 Trọn Kiếp Đơn Côi

I was under the assumption that whatever I see on tkaraoke is what the song number will be?

that is what the song number is, just type in the number and Tkaraoke will bring up that song for you. Work like any other karaoke system

TKaraoke has many views. You can click on any column to sort by that column. Click on it again to sort in the other order (A-Z to Z-A, for example). Hence, what you see in TKaraoke can't be the order of the song numbers. The number you saw when generating the catalog is the number that you should use to punch into the remote control to select the song. The Pro version will have the "Song Number" column for you to use without printing out the song catalog.

Thanks for a great tutorial, But i have a question. Which version of MS Offcie are you using? Because i have MS Office 2007 and when i tried to sort songs by alphabet with numeric in colum 1 and songs tittle in colum 2 it didnt work. And frankly the sort options alittle different from the tutorial.
Thanks!

They used MS 2003 .
- Chỉ có thể sort by songs name or songs number only . (một trong 2) còn muốn theo thứ tự thì phải tự sắp sếp folder & songs trong pc của bạn[biggrin]

You can sort by multiple columns in Word. It will first sort by ColumnX and if 2 rows have the same value in ColumnX then it will sort by ColumnY. In the case where you want ColumnX to be the Song Number, multiple columns sorting is useless because there will never be two rows with the same value in ColumnX (i.e. there is no two songs with the same song number).

Why do you want to sort by Song Number in the first place? Think of "Song Number" as the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and "Song Name" as the Year and Model of a car. Do you see anyone ever attempt to list cars in order by VIN? They typically list the cars in order by Year/Model. The Song Number is important when selecting a song but it's meaningless in any other case. For song catalog, you want to know the Song Number so you can select a song using its Song Number but you don't care about the ordering of the Song Number. Typically, you sort by "Song Name" and then by "Ca Si Name" (ColumnX = Song Name, ColumnY = Singer Name).

Here is a sample song catalog. Note that the Song Number is not sorted in anyway.

So lets say I printed the song list, follow this instruction to print a great looking catalog.

Then next week, I'll be adding more songs to the drive... and want to load them to the existing catalog... I would go into Tkaraoke, and clear list? then re-add songs? then generate song list again? When you add new songs, would it add it to the bottom of the existing list? or when you re-add the songs (with the new songs) Tkaraoke redo all the numbers?

I guess what I'm trying to find out is if we need to reprint the whole catalog if we're adding more songs to the catalog? or just print whatever is new and the numbers just continue on?

To my knowledge, Tkaraoke generate the songs number accordingly to the file location of the songs, alphabetically...
For example: you have 100 songs, 50 songs in each folder, located in:

C:/Karaoke Collection/Thuy Nga
D:/Karaoke Collection/Asia

50 songs in the Thuy Nga folder will have the number from 1 to 50, then songs in Asia folder will be from 51 to 100, even though the folder is Thuy Nga, which is alphabetically after Asia.

With that in mind, when you have your collection printed, let's say 10000 songs. Then a month later, you add in another 1000 songs, and you want to add the new songs to the printed songs book without messing up the old one, you have to put the new 1000 songs ALPHABETICALLY after the old 10000 songs. Then add the new songs into Tkaraoke, don't have to clear, (clear songs or not, it does not matter). Once all songs are added in, you can just generate and choose the songs from 10001 to 11000 to print out and attached it to the already printed song book.

Hope it helps.
Phương xa ngàn dặm người chốn nao
Thảo biếc tương tư vẫn nghẹn ngào
Yêu thương nhung nhớ ngập tâm trí
Dấu vết tình yêu đợi khi nao...
