For those who use computers for Karaoke, this could save your speakers and maybe other equipments as well.

For me, I DISABLE all unintended BEEPS (from internal pc speaker) and Windows SOUNDS. Here are what I have done:

DISABLE INTERNAL PC SPEAKER:

In Windows 2k/XP there is a way to disable the beep, go into device manager, select
the "Show hidden devices" option, go to "non plug and play device" find that device
named "Beep" and set it to disabled - click "OK" and REBOOT your computer.

Above instruction was copied from - THIS LINK

Let me know if you should still need help.

=======

DISABLE WINDOWS SOUNDS:

Open Control Panel
Double clicks on "Sound and Audio Devices"
Select the "Sounds" Tab
From the pull-down selection - Select "No Sounds"
Click "Apply"

You can reverse the process and select "Windows Defaults" when you need to reactivate the sound (But Why?)

Ba cái lăng nhăng nó quấy ta
Chừa được thứ nào hay thứ nấy
Hoạ chăng chừa rượu với chừa trà.”
