hi guys,

what speakers would you recommend? right now i have a 5.1 speaker setup (bose) and it sounds like crap when we sing. that is, the voice doesn't match the tempo of the music. but it sounds very good when watching movies (blu-ray). i've done some reading and it seems like i need a high frequency speaker for treble and bass. what brand/model would you guys recommend?

cheers,

lon

Select Stereo Speaker setup and turn off surround sound when you're singing karraoke ... 5.1 setup (surround sound) may delay your sound with unexpected results.

Definitely your Bose Speakers are not the problem ...

Good luck

Karaoke is designed for 2 channels, not 5.1/7.1. Like Newbie said, change your amplifier to "Stereo Mode" or "2.1" mode. If it still doesn't sound too good, you will need a dedicated Karaoke amplifier designed for karaoke.

Hello,

Generally speaking, Home Theater systems and speakers are not designed for Karaoke because they are optimized for music and movies (Especially with those small speakers; although I have figured out some usage for them with my home Karaoke setup). I don't know your BOSE system set up so it would be difficult for me to recommend changes/additions to make your Karaoke experience better. It would be hard to make your Home Theater system into a decent Karaoke system.

To answer your original question:
Basically and for home Karaoke, you would need a pair (may be one) of speakers with 8" woofer which are optimized for live vocals (midrange frequencies). However, I am not certain how you will be able to incorporate them with your current set up! - Regards.

tried my friends speakers and the vocal doesn't exactly match against the song being played. (ie vocal is empowering the song) so i swapped out the mixer w/ my friends and it sounds much better now. either my mixer suck balls or i'm not adjusting it properly ^_^
