Can either of these desktop/laptop handle H265 conversion and audio analysis? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-desktop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-1tb-hard-drive-256gb-solid-state-drive-hp-finish-in-shadow-black/6285800.p?skuId=6285800https://www.microcenter.com/product/507831/omen-15-dc0051nr-156-gaming-laptop-computer---blackLast week I bought the desktop from BestBuy for $900 and didn't realize that it does not have full GTX 1060 card. The card only has 3GB GDDR5 dedicated video memory (instead of 6GB) and one fan (instead of 2 fans). The desktop is still in the box and not open yet. Based on the reviews, the laptop seems to have heat issue and requires firmware update, but it has full GTX 1060 card (6GB GDDR5 dedicated video memory) and faster SSD drive. This laptop is on sale for about $1000 now. How slow is GTX 1060 card compared to GTX 1070 card? I don't play game on computer. My son plays Fortnite and hasn't tried any PC games yet. I haven't built PC for at least 7 years, so I don't know much about new PC components. The desktop was bought mainly for karaoke conversion and audio analysis. I bought a hard drive with karaoke songs from HL last year, but it has too many duplicated songs. The karaoke collection that I have collected over the years does not have new songs. Therefore, I try to do conversion to reduce file size and then combine the 2 collections together. The final step is to do audio analysis to make sure all songs play at the same audio level in TkaraokeUSB. Thank you for your help.

Both of those can be used to encode h265 fast when you use TKT and check "use GPU". The audio analysis isn't done in real-time so fast CPU isn't a real need - any decent machine will do. |
