New version of TKT will be released shortly. It has a new tool called H265 Conversion. This tool can convert VOB or MKV to H265 MKV. All audio tracks are pass-through w/ the same label names so if you named your audio tracks "Music" and "Karaoke", after conversion, the new file will also have labels Music and Karaoke. If you don't have an Nvidia 1060 or Quadro or newer card, select CPU as the mode. CPU will be 10 to 15 times slower than GPU. In the screenshot below, I'm converting YouSingHD h264 MKV to h265 and it's running at about 23x speed (a 23 minutes song will get converted in 1 minute). I have the 1070 card. Here are some reference speed with my card: 1. VOB to H265: 30x to 50x speed depending on which input VOB 2. 720p MKV to H265: 20x to 25x depending on quality factor 3. 1080p MKV to H265: 5x to 10x depending on quality factor You can overwrite the default quality factor but don't move too far away from the default value unless you know what you are doing. As you move away from the default value, it has diminishing returns (i.e. much larger file size for little or no quality increase).  |

Nvidia 1060 or Quadro or newer card ? so any Nvidia older than these cannot use GPU mode ? ie: GTX 1050 ?

I believed the 1050 has the same chipset as the 10xx so it should work but I have never tried it. I know the 1060 or better supports 2 conversion sessions as once but for what TKT is doing, 1 session is good enough. Grab TKT when it comes out and give your 1050 card a try. It will report if your card is not supported. Cards older than 10xx will not be supported for sure. |

According to Wikipedia and Nvidia sites, looks like the GTX 950 or better will work. Any card w/ chip GM2xx or newer will work. Some GTXM (laptop version of the GTX) still use GM1xx as of GTX 930 so be careful w/ the mobile version (i.e. get GTX 950m or better if you need to use the laptop) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_900_series |

TKT build 48 released. It has 2 new tools: Duplicate Songs Detector and H265 Converter. Video conversion is always tricky. Report any bug that you encounter and I will try to address them. |
