We recommend using the free version of REAPER (version 0.999) instead of the latest version. The reason is the free version is lightweight and load really fast. The latest version takes too long to startup and has the "loading screen" that can get in the way of your video screen. The only advantage of the latest version of REAPER is the ability to use 64-bit plugins. The Sony Pitchshift plugin comes with Sony Vegas and starting with v12, Sony Vegas only comes with 64-bit version. You can still have options to use Sony Vegas 10 or 11 but if you use v12 or newer, the free version of REAPER won't be able to load the Sony Pitchshift plugin.

As mentioned above, the latest REAPER takes a long time to startup and has a "loading screen". This can cause TKaraoke not able to hide the REAPER window automatically. To address this issue, starting with build 116, there is a "Delay (ms)" option in Sound Effects preferences. This is where you can tell TKaraoke to wait for REAPER to finish loading up. The unit here is millisecond. For example, to give REAPER extra 3 seconds to load, enter 3000 in the Delay (ms) time box.
