Starting with version 1.5.072, there will be a YouTube Browser built into TKaraoke. To use this browser, in TKaraoke, click on Tools --> YouTube Browser. See
Demo Here. For best performance, please upgrade your Internet Explorer version to v11 or later.
You can also search for YouTube songs via your phone/tablet and add the song to TKaraoke using the Online Songbook interface. As an example, here is the
YouTube search page for my own songbook.

Starting with version 1.5.069, Pro version will support YouTube songs. This feature was requested by

. How it work is you create (or copy from someone) a YTK (YouTube Karaoke) file. This is basically a TEXT file but has extension .YTK. In this file, you specific the URL of the YouTube song you want to play. TKaraoke will fetch the file from YouTube and play w/o downloading to your computer. If you are interested in downloading the file, look for this feature on
TKT.
As an example, I created a couple of songs:

Here is the content of one of the song:

Basically, you just paste the YouTube URL inside the YTK file. The URL can start with
http://youtube.com,
https://youtube.com, or
https://youtu.be. TKaraoke will pick the highest quality version available from YouTube for that URL. In a special case where you want to use a lower quality version, you can specify this as well by specifying the resolution you want to use and/or the file type you want to use.
For example, the song Thương Mẹ is a 1080p song but I want to use the 480p version and use file type WebM, the content of my YTK file would be:
Quote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RCVanHrFVo
webm
480p
Specifying the resolution and file type is optional. If you don't specify the file type, MP4 type will be used. If you don't specify the resolution, the highest resolution available will used. If the resolution you specified is higher than the highest available, TKaraoke will pick the highest resolution available. For example, if the YouTube song has maximum 720p and you specified 1080p, 720p will be used.
The recommended resolution you should be specifying in the YTK file ares: 360p, 480p, 720p, or 1080p.
The possible file types you can specify are: mp4, webm, flash, mobile, and unknown.
