I want to copy my song list from one laptop to another without having to add songs again, and re-create a new list.
I know the song list must be stored somewhere because every time I restart the program, the list is extracted and populated on the UI.
Thanks.

The cached list will not be used if tkaraoke detects you are on a different laptop. This logic is in place to prevent the having a list that is no longer current. Why don't u want to scan on the new laptop? This should happen only once. |

Thanks for the advice, but if you have a few thousand songs spreading across several folders, it would take quite some time to load them.
What I would like to do is to store the executable folder and have all the songs on an external hard drive which I can just plug into any laptop/PC and play. Is this feature supported?

Also, it would be very nice if there is a link to cross reference the actual filename such as 001.vob to the song name "Anh Về Với Em", and 002.vob to "Tiễn Đưa" etc ... that would be great.

if you have the same folder structure on both of the HDDs, Tkaraoke will generate the same song list. I did this to my aunt. She had a copy of my external HDD and we use the same song list with the same number ordering. I think Tkaraoke will generate the song number automatically if you use the function. |

I have closer to 30000 songs and it took less than 10 minutes to index. And this only happen once per machine until your songs are modified (added, deleted, or modified one or more songs). To answer your question, no, it must index the songs again on a new laptop - you can't use the cached version of the old laptop on the new laptop. One tip to help reduce the index time is to add just one folder. If your songs are from many folders, use the NTFS feature and mount each drive onto a main folder. Example: Main Folder (add this to TKaraoke): C:\Karaoke\ Drive 2: Instead of mounting it to D:\, mount it to C:\Karaoke\Drive D\ Drive 3: Instead of mounting it to E:\, mount it to C:\Karaoke\Drive E\ ...
