As you might have known, TKaraoke relies on the Online Lyrics Database (Lyrics DB) to get the lyrics for your songs. Live usage statistics can be found here.


Q: What's the main difference between the Backup and the Live Lyrics DB?
A:
1. The Live server gives up-to-date lyrics (update hourly), the Backup server gives lyrics that are x months old. Songs added recently might not be in the Backup server.
2. Songs without lyric when using the Live Server will be saved into a list of "Missing Songs". Members and staffs will look at these missing songs and add them into the Lyrics DB.
3. Update using the Live Server might be slower if it's your first time using the Live Server. Subsequent lookup will be fast like the Backup Server.
4. The timeout is set at 5 minutes for Backup server, 15 minutes for Live server.

Q: Is it safe to check "Remember Password" in the Lyrics DB Setup dialog in TKaraoke?
A: Yes, your password is encrypted before saving to disk and before transmitting over the network.


Anyone can use the Backup Server by creating a free account at the Lyrics DB website. Only Lyrics DB members with status "Lyrics Contributor" will be allowed access to the Live Server. "Newbie" or "Advanced Members" status will not have access to the Live Server. To be a "Lyrics Contributor", follow these steps:
1. Contribute 20 or more songs to the Lyrics DB
2. Request account upgrade via the Contact Us page. Be sure to tell us your username.

If we allow everyone to access the Live Server, the update speed will be slower for everyone. Therefore, it's fair to allow people with that contributed to the Lyrics DB better service.

If you have a commercial/Pro TKaraoke license, your account will automatically get access to the Live Server. Contact us if there is any problem.

If you are a donator/active-member/mod and think you deserve access to the Live Server, please post a reply to this topic. Please include your Lyrics DB username.

IS it why I can not update lyric in TKaraoke ??? I try both version TKaraoke v1.4.0.082 and v1.4.0.084.
I'm newbie in here, please guide me to right direction.
I try to click: Tools > Update Lyrics using online database > Full update or Partial update. Won't fill lyrics in Loi Nhac.

I did register in Lyrics DB Setup too. My username : Seadoogsx

Show me what I do wrong ?
Also, what is difference between Partial update and Full update ?

Sorry about dropping the ball on this topic. Due to the recent confusing, here is a clarification:

If you bought TKaraokePro, you do not need to request for live server access. Just create a free account on the Lyric DB (or use your existing account) and that account will automatically get access to the Live server.

If you are not using TKaraokePro, your free Lyric DB account will be able to access the Backup server only. To get the Live server, you'll need to contribute to the Lyric DB (add 20 or more songs) and PM Vcdz382 to upgrade your account to access the Live server.
