Hi my system components are as follow:

mic: PGX24's with SM58
compressor: DBX 266 XL
Mixer: mackie ProFX12
Speakers: JBL PRX12's.
Source: Home theather PC.

For some reason I could not get enough echo in my system. The vocal sounds flat and is not sound mixed into the music at all. The mixer has built-in FX but it does not seem to have noticeable difference between pre-sets. Do you think i need a seprate sound processor to add echo?

Thanks in advance.

Mackie mixer's not good FX for singing. It's so "dry". If you like mixer with FX, try Dynacord mixer, CMS1000 or CMS1600. :)

Lexicon MX300 's idea for your system.

There is no need for external for that as you want reverb for your Karaoke not echo. your system is fine. just your ears need to be adjusted.

I wish that my ears were only ones bad. Every ones told me that the system does not mix well and that I need to adjsut for more "echo". I had the FX on reverb but no noticeable difference.

Tell me how do you adjust your mixer as I know that many things can go wrong in the process

The ProFX12 has the FX control per input and on the master control. The FX has 16 settings and I used them all with little effect. I turned FX knob on the MIC channel up but left the music input at unity. I also tried the master FX control ( i think this is mixed signal) with little effect as well. I could not get that "echo" so the singer feels like they are running out of breath a lot.

I wonder if you read the manual as you have a very good or one of the best mixers. check if you mute the FX by accidence. you have the FX at you mic channel and FX send FX return and FX master to look at

First of all, I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, just trying to point out what you should take a look at:

1) Is this the mixer you are talking about?
http://www.mackie.com/pr...series/pdf/ProFX-OM.pdf

2) I think you should select "Internal Effect #16" as described in the following picture

3) Double check your settings for #50 and #51 As shown below

4) For complecated mixer you have to play with different settings and adjustments, it'll take time to come up with what you consider acceptable mix. And you also need people with audio knowledge (not a novice listener) to help you out while adjusting your mixer.

Good luck bro
